On this tour, you’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Jesuit Missions of La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná and Jesús de Tavarangue, part of a series of 30 missions in the Río de la Plata basin established by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) during the 17th and 18th centuries. Spend the night in the Argentine rainforest before heading to Iguazu Falls, the largest waterfalls system in the world, located along the Argentine and Brazilian borders. The falls divide the Iguazu River into the upper and lower Iguazu. Voted as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, Iguazu Falls is undoubtedly the most visited place in Misiones and one of the most imposing natural attractions in Argentina and the World.

Day 1 – Buenos Aires / Posadas / Jesuit Ruins / Tacuapi Lodge

Includes private transfer from your hotel to the airport or bus station.

Upon arrival in Posadas, and on the way to Tacuapi Lodge, you will have a stop at San Ignacio Mini Jesuit Ruins. Built in 1632, these ruins have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage for its historical importance. Built for the colonization of the natives of the area, the ruins were left by the Jesuits in 1767 when they were forced to abandon the continent.

Lost in dense vegetation, the remains were found in 1897, but were not restored until 1940.

Still surrounded by dense vegetation, this mystic place will give you the opportunity to learn more about the history of the native inhabitants of Misiones and their past.

From here you will continue to the beautiful Tacuapi Eco-Lodge, at the heart of the protected area called “Green Corridor” (an exuberant reserve of the unique “Paraense Rainforest”).

The property involves 50 hectares of natural reserve to be discovered along tracks of different difficulties. Many viewpoints, rest areas, waterfalls and bridges allow visitors to walk deep inside the Rainforest, observing and experiencing the splendid Fauna and Flora of the area.

Afternoon at leisure to enjoy any of the available activities. You can choose between guided treks, flora and fauna observation, or interpretative walks with waterfalls. You can finish any of your adventures just relaxing at the swimming pool surrounded by jungle.

Day 2 – Tacuapi Lodge / Puerto Iguazu

After breakfast, a private transfer will take you on a three-hour ride to Puerto Iguazu across the province of Misiones.

Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu, you will be taken to the selected hotel. The little and relaxing town is the gateway to the impressive Iguazu Falls, which have been declared as one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the world, making them a must see for any traveler visiting Argentina.

Afternoon at leisure.

Optional: Half-day trip to Brazilian National Park $110 + $35 National Park Fee (to be paid locally in the national currency)

On the Brazilian side, you will enjoy vast panoramic views of the falls allowing you to take them in their entirety. Please note that Brazil requires that most tourists have a visa to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls.

Please check with the Brazilian Consulate to ensure that you have the appropriate visa before traveling or you will not be allowed to enter Brazil. US citizens, Canadians & Australians (as well as other nationalities) need a visa to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls.

Day 3 – Iguazu National Park: Argentine Side / Buenos Aires

Today, you will visit the Argentine National Reserve. Please remember that National Park Fees are not included. Check at the end of your itinerary the corresponding fee, to be paid locally in national currency.

After breakfast, you will depart on a full day tour (shared service) to the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls where you will have intimate views of this unforgettable section of the Iguazu River. A guide will show you the hidden gems of this unique National Park and will take you off the beaten path to show you the best views.

Lower and upper walkways permit up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature. Trails through the 210 square mile reserve provide visitors with various views of the falls, especially the largest one, Devil’s Throat. The ecological train ride is included in the tour. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Optional: Gran Aventura $56USD

In the park, there are different excursions you can take for an additional cost. On the “Gran Aventura” you can sail the river and get closer the falls (Please be aware- on the boat trip there is a 100% chance that you will get wet…the falls provide a refreshing “natural shower”. Be sure to take some extra clothes if you want to do this excursion.) This day will be a real adventure, full of thrills and spills, and is an absolute must for the adventurer at heart.

Duration: 6 to 8 hours

At the appropriate time in the afternoon, you will have a transfer (shared service) to the bus station of airport. Upon arrival to Buenos Aires you will have a transfer to your selected accommodation (Accommodation in Buenos Aires not included)
