We are always on the lookout for Adventure People who are passionate about travel and the outdoors, but also who want to create a wonderful experience for others. We provide a range of tours and experiences from bucket list adventures and treks to women’s only trips and retreats. We are all about changing people’s lives by introducing them to new experiences, challenging adventures, and new cultures.
So, you wanna join the team? Fantastic! We think it’s the greatest job in the world! However, we require more than just a love for the outdoors and adventure travel if you want to join our team as a Guide. You’ll be the face of our company and responsible for ensuring that all of our travelers have a memorable experience. We strive to create a great workplace where you feel valued, supported, and can let your fun and outgoing personality shine through. Adventure People Hiring Process
We will only be responding to those whom we wish to interview. Please keep in mind that we are a small company and we’re still growing. This is not full-time employment. Employment is not guaranteed for the year. Assignments will be intermittent and sporadic.
A note about our work culture: We are a virtual team scattered across the globe. If you are invited to join our team:
- You MUST be comfortable with communications via Slack and email.
- You must also have a natural tendency to take initiative and get things done.
- You must understand and work well in a start-up culture, which means you could be wearing a lot of hats and taking on a variety of responsibilities.
- Lastly, TEAMWORK really does matter and you must be willing to pitch-in, take responsibility for your actions, and be willing to hold yourself accountable to the rest of the team.

LEADER
A leader who is dedicated to ensuring that your group has an amazing experience. You must be capable of empathy, teaching, understanding of group dynamics, facilitating, coaching through challenges, effective communicator, aware of self and group needs, and a sense of humor.
ORGANIZED
Confident organizing groups, detail-oriented, and competent working independently and remotely. Experience with logistics and details of trip planning is a must.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Interpersonal skills and knowledge of group dynamics is important to ensure the group as a whole has an epic adventure filled with growth, bonding, and fun. Guides will have the ability to know when it is appropriate to pull a traveler aside for a private talk, give them some personal, quiet time, or even dismiss an individual from the trip.
DECISIVE AND CALM
There will be highly unpredictable environments and circumstances. Adventure People are often at the mercy of the weather and group dynamics. Trip Leaders must be able to proactively solve problems and make quick decisions in a professional manner with limited support while maintaining an exceptional experience for Adventure People.
NATURALLY CARING
Genuinely want the Adventure People experience to be the best it can be.
AN ENGAGING PUBLIC SPEAKER
Strong, enthusiastic, and a cheerleader for the brand while engaging with people with wit and charm.
EXPERIENCED IN THE OUTDOORS
Verifiable skills including first aid, crisis response, trip plan execution, risk management, nutrition, cooking, meal planning, camp setup, Leave No Trace, safety, etc.
PHYSICALLY FIT
Must meet the demands of the role. Not only do Adventure People Trip Leaders participate in all activities, but they are often the first awake, last to bed, hiking extra miles, etc.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND COMPUTER SAVVY
Experience with Facebook and Instagram is essential.
A COMPETENT PHONE/CAMERA PHOTOGRAPHER
Basic knowledge of snapping a great picture (wipe off the lens, snap a horizontal picture, etc). Create specific Facebook/ Google photo albums to upload your good pictures and share them.
TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR ROLE AS AN ADVENTURE PEOPLE TRIP LEADER
Share your unique personality and talents with Adventure People. Continue to develop and hone your skills as an Adventure People Trip Leader through personal travel, research, and training.
MINIMIZE RISK AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
