Baja Whale Expedition

The ultimate whale and wildlife adventure in Baja California Sur!

Cabo, La Paz, Espiritu Santo Island, Adolfo Lopez Mateos, Todos Santos

Walking, Snorkeling, Whale Watching

8 Adventure People

7 Days

Every year, from November to April, the southern Baja peninsula is a playground for gray whales, humpback whales, and whale sharks. The gray whales & humpback whales migrate more than 10,000 miles between their summer feeding grounds in the Arctic and the coastal lagoons of the southern Baja peninsula, where the females give birth. Meanwhile, on the opposite coast, the Sea of Cortez is a feeding ground for the elusive whale shark who migrate there to feed on plankton. Whale watching is a unique experience in Southern Baja and perhaps the most extraordinary wildlife encounter you’ll ever experience!

Adventure Highlights

  • Spend some free time exploring the resort city of Cabo San Lucas, known for its beaches, water-based activities, and nightlife.

Is This Trip Right For You?

  • There will be a couple of long drives, approximately 2-3 hours in a passenger van, but this will be the perfect time to get to know your fellow passengers.
  • There will be a day of snorkeling in the proximity of sea lions and whale sharks. You will also come into close proximity to gray whales and their calves. While this is exciting, it also comes with an element of danger, so please participate at your own risk.
  • It’s a good idea to learn as many Spanish words as you can. Locals are very friendly, but can be shy, so you’ll need to make an effort to break the ice. It’s a great way to show respect and involve yourself in their culture.
