Delete your account & data — how to request removal

We’re sorry to see you go, but we’ll make this as simple and safe as possible. Below are clear steps for deleting your Adventure People account and guidance for removing data from Facebook. If you’d like, we’ll walk you through the process — just contact us.


1) Delete your Adventure People account (quick steps)

  1. Sign in to your account at Adventure People.

  2. Go to Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account.

  3. Follow the on-screen steps and confirm.

If you don’t see the option or prefer we handle it for you, email us at support@adventurepeople.net with:

  • Subject: Account deletion request

  • Your account email

  • Any booking references you want preserved or excluded (optional)

We’ll verify your identity (see “Verification” below) and start the deletion process.


2) What we delete, and what we can’t

What we delete

  • Your personal profile (name, email, phone, profile image)

  • Saved preferences, wishlists, and non-financial profile data

  • Public profile content (comments & photos) unless it’s required for trip records

What we may retain (and why)

  • Minimal booking & payment records we’re legally required to keep (taxes, refunds, audit): kept for the time required by law and then anonymised.

  • Logs and backups: a copy may remain in secure backups for a short time (usually up to 30 days) and will be permanently removed per our retention policy.

We’ll always try to remove identifying data where legally and operationally possible. If something must be retained, we’ll explain why.


3) Verification we may need

To protect your privacy, we may ask for one of the following to confirm the request:

  • A login confirmation email from your account, OR

  • A scan/photo of a government ID (used only to verify identity; it will be deleted as soon as verification is complete)

We only ask for what’s strictly necessary and store verification info securely until the check is finished.


4) Timeline & confirmation

  • Once verified, we normally process deletion requests within 30 days.

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.

  • If there’s any legal hold preventing immediate deletion, we’ll explain the reason and expected timeframe.


5) If you signed up or connected via Facebook

If you logged in with Facebook, deleting your Adventure People account will remove your Adventure People profile. It will not automatically delete your Facebook account or anything Facebook stores. For Facebook data, follow the steps below.

Remove Adventure People app access from Facebook

  1. Log in to Facebook.

  2. Click the menu (top right) → Settings & privacySettings.

  3. In the left column choose Apps and Websites (or search for “Apps and Websites”).

  4. Under Logged in with Facebook, find Adventure People (or our app name) and click RemoveRemove.

Removing the app revokes our access to your Facebook profile information.
